Hood Canon
i just got a canon Rebel Xsi and im still learning about these cameras..i was looking at "hoods" but dont know?
which i should get the "flower" one or a collapsable? does one work better? should i put a hood on the standard lens?
the "flower" hood would probably be sturdier than the collapsable one.
If you really want to conserve space, I guess the collapsable one would be ok, but I've never really seen this hood.
If you're using the 18-55 Kit Lense, the hood probably isn't really necessary, unless you're ouside in bright sunlight (it will help reduce glare) When you get to larger telephoto lenses, then the hood becomes more critical, and most lenses have standard hoods available from the lense manufacturer.
